AA bio balls are small plastic balls mainly used as the biological media in filters. These little plastic bio balls provide increased surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow for filtration. They are used as the biological media in salt water and fresh water aquariums as well as ponds.
Instructions:
Rinse the bio balls and put them into the filter case of your aquarium.
Do not clean the bio balls once they are cycled, or you will risk killing off all the beneficial bacteria that you need to filter your water.
Only clean the bio balls in water taken from the aquarium.
